PROBE AGM

The  PROBE  AGM  is  to  be  held  in  Lecture  Theatre  2  in  the University College London [UCL]  Cruciform Building,  Gower Street, London WC1E 6BT on  Friday 11th April 2008 at 5.00PM  

Patients are welcome to come along to the later part of the 2nd National Meeting of The Barretts Oesophagus Foundation at 2.50 pm and the programme will consist of :

LAY AUDIENCE PRESENTATIONS
Three short listed talks with prizes awarded for best presentation to a lay audience.The competition will be judged by members of the patient committee{PROBE].                  The PROBE Awards are open to research fellows and scientists in training and they tend to come up with interesting ideas for dealing with Barretts.

Circumferential epithelial radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's oesophagus

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) has issued full guidance to the NHS in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland on circumferential epithelial radiofrequency ablation for Barrett's oesophagus.

Calling all cyclists!

Cycle around the beautiful Isle of Wight and help me to raise money for Barrett's Oesophagus Foundation, in memory of my husband who died from Cancer of the Oesophagus in September.

This sponsored bike ride will take place over the weekend of the 17th and 18th May 2008. The basic route is 62 miles on quieter roads and surfaced cycle ways. An additional loop of 9 miles for day one and 15 miles for day two will also be included for those wanting a bigger challenge. Overnight will be on the south coast of the island near Brighstone - both camping and B&B (limited) are available (there will be support vehicles for bags and equipment).

2nd National Meeting Announced

The 2nd National Meeting - Research Progress in Barrett's Oesophagus and PROBE AGM, will be held on 11th April, 2008, in London.

Patients are welcome to come along to this annual event organised by Barrett's Oesophagus Foundation to hear talks by research fellows and scientists in training on their current research.
